Birthday Fun

 

This Boy Turned 4 years old On the 5th of September. Were has the time gone? What a cute little mess he is!

We celebrated it on Monday with Cake and swimming.

 When I asked Cory what kind of cake he wanted me to make for his birthday, The answer wasn't surprising but a lot more detailed then I had planned. I was given very specific instructions to make a jungle birthday cake, but he didn't stop there he proceeded to tell me he had to have an elephant, hippo, zebra, tiger, rhino, lion, monkeys, alligators, and a giraffe! When i laughed and said ok I will see what I can do he didn't stop he insisted that there be a river and the hippo and alligators had to be swimming in the river!!

Well I gave it my best shot, the whole time wondering if i would be able to live up to these expectations. Especially because I was wanting to try and make everything edible meaning no plastic toys could be put on this cake (maybe next time I wont try to be the “cake boss”)

After 5 cake mixes (no I didn't make the cake from scratch and i don't care if I did) 1 tub of Crisco 3lbs of Fondant and 8lbs of powder sugar—And 3 days of work here is what I came up with

This is by far the most detailed and biggest cake I have ever made so far. It was a lot of work and fun. I learned a lot like the palm trees need to be made at least 4 days in advance!! But Cory got everything he wanted a jungle river cake with an elephant, zebra, tiger, giraffe, lion, rhino, monkeys and a hippo and alligators swimming in the river, I even added some jungle flowers, snakes and birdies just for fun--

Birthday BOY Continued...

Here are pictures from Kellin’s Party Last Saturday. Because we decided kind of last minute to do it the Saturday before his birthday we were only really able to invite family.
Kellin was so tired at his party because he was up so early and was ready for his nap once 11:00 came around but he stayed awake the whole time and then some. I guess there was just too much going on to sleep through it.

This sucker took me ALL day Friday to make and then some on Saturday Morning, But it was worth it it was tasty and I Loved how it turned out!

Were have I been you ask??

Or maybe you don't really care. But I’m ganna tell ya anyway…

We have been busy with life and I took a few weeks to not blog just because I didn't feel like forcing it in my day. I have been busy with Our wards Halloween Party, and also Our Relief Society’s Souper Saturday, Dentist appointments (like a million of them) Dr. Appointments (Kellin has an ear infection) Making my Little Cousin Lauren a birthday Cake (it took me three days)

Most importantly I spent time playing with, holding, chasing around, rocking, and cleaning up after my two little boys!

At our Souper Saturday we made some crafts that I LOVE!

Also Here are some pictures of the cake I made. Making a cake like this is SOOO much work. but I enjoy doing it. It was my very first time making a cake out of fondant. Its a lot harder then the cake boss makes it look that's for sure!! The cake we Copied courtesy of Pink Cake Box was super cute I tried my best and although it didn't come out just like theirs It was pretty cute when you looked at it from across the room hahaha!! Lor loves snakes so I made her a little snake to go with the birds butterflies and flowers!

Oh and My hair is now dark well has been since September, I never really blog about my hair because believe me its nothing special.

It's A Party!

Cory turned three on the 5th. Since we were having a party with family on the following Monday I decided Birthday Pancakes were in order. So we all ate some birthday pancakes with Cory and sang Happy Birthday to him. He thought it was pretty cool!

Monday we had a little swimming party with a small group of Family at my parents house. We had a good time eating pizza and cake and hanging out together Here are some pictures from the partay.

Cory's Cake that I made it took FOREVER! Thanks Mom Jeri for your help with the Boys! Cory is on a Dinosaur kick these days.

He was so excited to blow out the candles he couldnt even wait till the Birthday song was over he was even clapping for himself before the song ended! What a Nerd!!

And he Loved all his presents, He recieved many dinosaurs, guns,Balls, bubble blowers toys and Dino movies. He made out pretty good!

Kellin was in Heaven too, He got passed around squeezed kissed and Loved on by 2 Grandmas 2 Grandpas a couple Aunts 5 Uncles and a few Cousins. It was a pretty good day!
